No more delays in getting the PMP?? certification?

Let's say the following statements apply to people:

?? You are generally managing projects

?? You heard the project management PMP?? assessment is difficult

?? You are an admitted perfectionist when it comes to projects assigned to you.

?? You ensure work are successful and get better and better with each new project.

?? You might have the title and performing the effort without the credential.

?? You've got many years experience taking care of projects even before getting into your current position.

?? You are performing the role for a project manager managing projects at all project management institute necessary but you don't have the title.

If you answered yes to several above statements you are procrastinating to obtain your PMP?? certification credential. Don't stare at yourself a later date saying I should get the PMP??, you know you're supposed to accomplish this so let's get on the road.

If you've got been managing temporary initiatives or endeavors after a while it is time to wake up and make some immediate changes prove work. Get on the right road to travel to certification complete lane. It shouldn't take you long now you know that's where you ought to go. Yes, you need to go there. First, you must determine where you are in terms of what do you formally learn about the processes and practice you might have been performing while managing projects. Project management is not accidental although many fit in it by accident or should i say, by gift. Nor do you find it reactive or unconscious. Most, if not all, certifications requires significant effort to achieve and do result with gained knowledge.

For the people with proper experience, a certification may increase significant value since these kind of professionals can put some sort of formal knowledge structure to what they have been practicing on the occupation.

We feel that most will not argue with this statement: some certifications get significant value, others don't, and it is important to realize the difference.

Some certifications experienced good value nevertheless have lost it or are losing their value although their numbers carry on and grow. Sound like a contradictory statement and perhaps it is but we will argue otherwise.

There is a huge gap in practice and awareness to the project management tools value of certifications in the market. This is usually the outcome of overzealous marketing, and once we mentioned earlier on bordering unethical behaviors.

Sadly, some professional associations are more concerned with growing their numbers in lieu of clearly communicating the true value of each certification they grant or spend the essential screening effort to make certain qualified individuals earn the proper certification.

Some certifications are introductory or early career nonetheless they are 'sold' as expert level.

A few are general certifications for someone with project management experience (although limited) but are 'sold' as project manager's certification.

Scan through the certification requirements to help you understand if this is a basic level or some sort of senior level or an expert level

Don't take the certification holder for granted... review this CV, challenge the person, ask the difficult questions, go beyond soft skills and ask the hard project supervision core questions (if you're hiring for a project management position)

Does the certificate holder get project management experience or technical experience working on project management methodologies project; do not trust that professional association to verify this on your behalf since they mostly rely on online applications with reduced audit or verification

The Action

It is important to recognize that some professional associations may not in the best position to treat these concerns and we'd like an alternative. The alternative is to focus on educating the global neighborhood, educating recruiters and executives relating to the value of certifications.
